Also a special highlight is the summit cross, which is regarded as one of the most beautiful crosses in the entire region. In the footsteps of the KAT Walk long-distance hiking trail to your summit bliss
The Kitzbühel Alps Trail, in short KAT Walk, is likely the most scenic long-distance hiking trail in Tirol. Over 6 stages, the trail leads once straight through the Kitzbühel Alps. Starting point is Hopfgarten in the Holiday Region Hohe Salve. From there you hike into the Kelchsau and already on the second day you cross Lodron mountain coming from the Kelchsau on the way into the Windau. A wonderful stage with summit conquest on the 360°-panoramic mountain.

An excursion into the realm of Alpine lodges
On a hike to Lodron you will pass no less than four wonderful, rustic Alpine lodges. Vordere and Hintere Ölbankalm as well as Untere and Obere Lodronalm. Even with the four lodges you should carry enough provisions. The lodges are only used for Alpine agriculture and do not serve food or drink. The little village of Kelchsau at the starting point for the hike is also characterised by agriculture. Already when making your way there, you’ll come across traditional farms time and again.

No trail too far, no summit too high - No problem!
The hike up to Lodron can be extended at will. Particularly recommended is the ascent up to the summit of Steinbergstein. Another option is a descent to Untere Lärchenbergalm.
