Tour information

The starting point of this challenging tour is the sports field at Penningberg in Hopfgarten. From there you start to the Penningdörfl (No. 73).
From Penningdörfl you follow the signposting no. 73, past the Mittermoosen lake, to the summit of the Markbachjoch (1500 m).
Continue hiking on trail no. 74, past the Holzalm to the chapel at Horler Stiegl. From there you follow the hiking trail until you reach the Feldalphorn (1923 m) after about another hour and a half.
From the Feldalphorn you follow the signposting No. 75 further to the highest point of the tour, the Schwaigberghorn (1990 m). Passing the Neustattalm and the Alpmessaualm, the route continues along mountain paths and forest roads to the destination, Kelchsau (No. 75).

  • Coming from Innsbruck/Munich: A12 exit Wörgl Ost - feeder road B178 direction St. Johann i. T. & Kitzbühel - after tunnel exit direction Hopfgarten - in the traffic circle exit on B170 direction Hopfgarten - right under the underpass over bridge direction Kelchsau - into the valley on L205 Kelchsauer Straße approx. 200 m - right on Pnningbergstraße - after approx. 2 km destination is on the right side.

    Coming from Kitzbühel: B170 Brixentalstraße direction Wörgl - in Hopfgarten before the second railroad underpass turn left over bridge direction Kelchsau - into the valley on L205 Kelchsauer Straße approx. 200 m - turn right on Pnningbergstraße - after approx. 2 km destination is on the right side.
  • Arrival at the starting point by public transport not possible.
    End point: Kelchsau Steinbrücke (bus stop)

    Guest card of the region = train ticket from Kirchbichl to Hochfilzen + bus ticket from Mariastein to Kitzbühel included
