Paper-less working
The Hohe Salve region emphasises paperless working in the tourist association. This has a fundamental role to play in sustainability, since paper, ink and energy wastage is considerably reduced.
By using digital solutions resources are spared, waste minimised and environmental impact reduced. These environmentally-aware measures highlight the region’s commitment to have a role in ensuring a positive environmental balance.
Reduction of print forms
The Hohe Salve region emphasises environmental protection and efficiency based on the reduction of print material.
Digitalised content enables real-time updates, widened outreach and interactive experiences. These innovative measures save costs, minimise environmental footprint, provide up-to-date information and promote environmental awareness.
The region sees this as a win-win situation: more sustainability, improved communication and higher visitor satisfaction.
Sustainable/ regional gifts
The tourist association for the Hohe Salve region emphasises regional and sustainable conditions, particularly for give-aways and complimentary gifts. This supports sustainability, while promoting the local economy and production, reduces CO2 footprint and favours environmentally compatible decisions .
By prioritising regional suppliers the economic benefits within the community are enhanced and at the same time environmental protection is supported.
Sustainable commitment for accommodation providers
In the Hohe Salve region special measures for accommodation providers are implemented with regard to sustainability.
As well as sustainability coaching free rubbish stickers are made available which can be used on rubbish baskets in rooms and apartments. These stickers ought to make it easier for guests to separate rubbish and are an indicator of the statutory importance placed upon rubbish separation in Austria.
Our wood holiday planner displays are made here in the region and made available for our accommodation providers. In order to draw the attention of guests staying in our region to our healthy water which is of drinking water standard , we have produced our own "drinking water signs" . These can also be displayed in rooms and apartments.
The measures highlight the region’s endeavours to make our guests aware of rubbish separation, to enjoy "drinking water from the tap" and protect the natural environment.
Our field providers always work sustainably
The region’s field providers are dedicated to the maintenance of hiking and cycling paths, as well as the creation of rest points, benches and bike stands made from ash wood along these paths.
The wood benches were made by staff in field services themselves and the wood is always obtained regionally from forest areas in the Hopfgarten district in Brixental .
In so doing we are seeking to minimise the effects on the environment and protect the natural surroundings . These measures reflect the focus on environmental protection and community development , while simultaneously preserving the beauty and functionality of the hiking and cycling paths for visitors .
Car Sharing with Flo Mobil
FLOS are E-cars, filling up on eco electricity and produce no harmful exhaust fumes when they are driven. FloMobil provides an environmentally-friendly alternative for staff business trips via car sharing. The advantages are many and varied: No harmful exhaust fumes, reduced congestion, lower cost for individual commuting and more efficient use of vehicles.
FloMobil’s flexibility enables customised mobility, without the commitment of having your own car. Shared use of vehicles also promotes social interaction, reduces the need for car parking areas and contributes to quality of life in urban areas.

Our own events in the region
In its own events the Hohe Salve emphasises ‘Green Events’. We organise our events as sustainably as possible and in the next few years are endeavouring to get the Green Event seal for all our own events.
What are green events?
These are events that bring together environmental, social, economic and cultural sustainability . These events reduce environmental pollution, are easy on resources and strengthen the regional economy.
Green Events Tirol, a programme from Klimabündnis Tirol and Umwelt Verein Tirol, supports regional event organisers with the sustainable organisation of their events. The programme offers free advice and evaluation, and is promoted by Land Tirol. Klimabündnis Tirol, as the biggest communal environmental protection network in Austria, coordinates the project and implements local climate protection initiatives.
The Hohe Salve region is gearing this year’s events to the criteria of Green Events Basic and is therefore making a contribution to the promotion of environmental responsibility and regional development.

Trail equipment in the region
A new piste vehicle uses Shell GTL Fuel Alpine for over 60 kilometres of trails in ‘Loipenzentrum Angerberg’. The fuel, made from natural gas, offers improved low temperature properties (down to -30°C CFPP) and reduced emissions in comparison to standard diesel.
Thanks to collaboration with EnergieDirect the Hohe Salve region has reduced local emissions and emphasises the harmony between the pistes and nature, since the fuel is more environmentally friendly and biodegradable. Thereby assuring the optimum winter sport experience in the Kitzbühel Alps.
