Located close to the waterfall is the history-charged wooden fountain. Towards the end of the 19th century bath-houses enjoyed an enormous resurgence in Tirol thanks to an boom in summer holidays. One of these was in St. Johann: the Samerbadl also known as the Bauernbadl. People spoke of the healing effects of its waters. As well as wooden bath tubs and changing cubicles, there was also a little inn. Tables and benches shaded by the trees tempt you to linger. These days there is a still a wooden fountain that serves as a reminder of those times. The healing water is still held in high regard by locals even today.
