Head into nature! The first section of the gorge proceeds through a wild, romantic gorge, that is also easy to walk on at the narrow sections thanks to the jetties and the suspension bridges. The ascent climbs gently and is also manageable for less ambitious walkers. Good footwear is definitely recommended.

In spring, around the end of April, a safety check must be carried out by an expert after the snow has melted. The slopes are climbed over and loose rock is removed or blasted. The footbridges are made passable and all other necessary and required repair work is carried out. Only then will the Griesbach Gorge be ready again for all nature lovers, mountain admirers and hiking enthusiasts.
The gorge is closed at the beginning of November. High temperature fluctuations and frost increase the risk of stones coming loose from the rock faces and injuring hikers. The footbridges are covered with wood for the winter months to protect them from avalanches and falling rocks.
