Tour information

The starting point of the family adventure trail is located at the forest playground or directly at Törfchen-parking lot at Römerweg in St. Johann in Tirol.

From the forest playground parking lot, walk in direction of St. Johann in Tirol on the sealed road and straight through a small wooded area for some 800 m to Törfchen-parking lot. After the footbridge across Rettenbach you can test your sensory instincts on the barefoot trail. Then continue walking along the forestry trail and follow the road signs with the marsh elf. The gentle climbs and gravel paths of the Törfchen-loop can also be easily negotiated with a pram requiring only a small effort.

Along the loop in the forest or by the wayside you’ll come upon fun play stations, tricky riddles and plenty of interesting facts about the marsh, its plants and inhabitants. On the monkey swing, little marsh explorers can swing through the air, the treehouse is perfect for practising your climbing skills and the boardwalk offers fine views of the marsh.

Just after the climbing spiderweb, a detour to Rummlerhof Inn is well worth the effort (Mondays closed). The country inn offers not only a great opportunity to stop for refreshments, but also features a small marsh-riddle. So you can set off on the return trip refreshed. Now follow the sealed road up to Maurerhof farmhouse until you get to a gravel path again. You will pass one more playing experience before getting back to the Törfchen parking lot. But watch out – here at the end of the Törfchen-loop, hidden between bushes and trees, is the playstation “Vogelgezwitscher” (twittering).

Now a visit to the forest playground is indispensable – here your children can slide, swing, climb & balance to their hearts’ content, while you relax under an awning and breathe in the fragrant forest air.

With the Moor & more brochure (available in the information offices of the Region St. Johann in Tirol) you can tick off riddle fields along the way. When you have found all riddle stations, diligent marsh explorers can pick up a little surprise in the information office St. Johann in Tirol.
