From when has cheese actually been around? Why are Tirol cows happy? Are both ‘Stinkers’ really deserved of their names? Experience this and much more in the state-of-the-art 400 m² showroom in Tirol’s Wilder Käser cheese dairy in Kirchdorf in Tirol: Everything about cheese in words and pictures! Take a look at these hand-crafted delights here as they mature, ask the Wilder Käser cheese dairy lots of questions and take a look (through the glass) to the hallowed crafting halls where every day the ‘Wilde Käser’ transforms around 1200 litres of pasture milk into 700 delicious wheels of cheese. For hygiene reasons only the master cheese maker is allowed into the production rooms. But you can see everything that is happening up on the screen!

Bernd, the ‘Wilde Käser’, is a character. A Tirol man with heart and soul, who works in the precious qualities of his homeland into his speciality cheeses - as per the time-honoured traditions of course. Fresh pasture milk and lots of love are what go into this award-winning character-filled cheese. One which has a very special character. Natural, piece by piece. Bernd is ably supported by his wife Margit, who shares his passion as a qualified cheese sommelière. Today gourmet products from the Wilde Käser in the St. Johann in Tirol region are just as indispensable as the Wilder Kaiser itself.
