Kitzbüheler Horn

The region, which includes the towns of St. Johann in Tirol, Oberndorf, Kirchdorf and Erpfendorf nestles between the Kitzbüheler Horn and the Wilder Kaiser. The Kitzbüheler Horn is an ideal mountain for hiking and offers a variety of excursion opportunities. Special highlights are the Hornpark treetop adventure park and the Horn summit mountain trail, which proceeds right to the summit too. The striking broadcasting and television tower on the summit is a landmark. From the hiking area on the Kitzbüheler Horn there is a fantastic view to the Wilder Kaiser and the surrounding mountains. The Kitzbüheler Horn is a very significant mountain in the Kitzbühel Alps. At the foot of this impressive mountain lies the St. Johann in Tirol region. At an elevation of 1996m it only just misses out on the two-thousand metre mark. On the main summit of the same name there is a 102 m television tower for Österreichische Rundfunksender GmbH (ORS), the Kitzbüheler Horn transmission tower. With the Harschbichl (1604m) there is another low level summit that is accessible from the north.
