Via ferratas Kitzbüheler Horn

Listen up climbing fans! On the Kitzbüheler Horn in St. Johann in Tirol there are two via ferrata routes waiting for you. These developed routes are fun for any performance-oriented climber. Beginners can get a feel for the sport on the practice via ferrata route initially. The impressive panorama above the Kitzbühel Alps makes the route a highlight in the St. Johann in Tirol region. The breath-taking views to the Wilder Kaiser and to the Loferer and Leoganger Steinberge will make every mountaineer’s heart skip a beat. Freedom, grippy rocks, steep upturns, lofty ridges and a unique view await you!

From the Harschbichl mountain station (1604m) you hike for around 20 minutes to the Kitzbüheler Horn, up to the entrance for the practice via ferrata route. After a circuit that is more than 100 m in length (1 ‘C’ section) you are at the entrance again and continue hiking to the summit path. After another quarter of an hour a big challenge presents itself - storming the summit of the Kitzbüheler Horn! The access point is close to the Ludwig Scheibersteig. On a length of some 350m and with some 150 metres altitude, after the access area, the route proceeds along the ridge towards the summit. On several sections the via ferrata reaches difficulty level C. When you get to the top you will be rewarded with impressive views to the Großglockner!
