The Kaiser mountains in the Kitzbühel Alps are arranged in what is predominantly pure limestone rock, in the Wilder Kaiser and on both the north and south sides there is the Zahmer Kaiser which is predominantly covered by mountain pine. Both mountain chains are linked to one another via the 1580m Stripsenjoch. In total, the area spans some 20km in an east-west direction and some 14 km in a north-south direction. This yields a total service area spanning some 280 km². The highest elevation in the Wilder Kaiser is Ellmauer Halt in the town of Kufstein, at 2344 m. Aside from this one, there are some forty other summits, including many famous climbing mountains (Karlspitzen, Totenkirchl, Fleischbank, Predigtstuhl, Goinger Halt, Ackerlspitze, Maukspitze).
