Kaiserradrunde

Head out on two wheels around the Kaiser mountains from the St. Johann in Tirol region!

Idyllic natural surroundings, dreamy views, enchanting mountains and lots of lovely sights are waiting for you along the 80 kilometre Kaiserradrunde, which proceeds around the spectacular Kaiser mountains. Lakes and local food establishments tempt you to relax and enjoy a break.

The starting point for your tour is something you can decide for yourself ... Whether it is sporty or leisurely. You pass the following towns on the Kaiserradrunde: Kufstein - Ebbs - Niederndorf - Walchsee - Kössen - Kirchdorf in Tirol - St. Johann in Tirol - Going - Ellmau - Scheffau - Kufstein.

In the St. Johann in Tirol region the tour proceeds along the River Adventure Trail from Kirchdorf in Tirol to St. Johann in Tirol. Be tempted by a Aggstein Edelbrände taster in the Schnapsalm.

The trail continues past fields and settlement areas of St. Johann in Tyrol, to the church of St. Nicholas in Weitau. A visit to the small church is worthwhile. This church was donated by Ulrich and Gebart von Velben in 1262. Incidentally, Ulrich and Gebart von Velben were also the owners of nearby Velben Castle, which unfortunately no longer exists. The church has a great work of art. The late Gothic stained glass window behind the high altar dates from around 1460 and is the oldest and only completely preserved window from the Middle Ages in Tyrol.

Through the farming hamlet of Sperten, the cycle path continues over the Rerobichl, past the mountain chapel to Going am Wilden Kaiser. The mountain chapel is dedicated to St. John of Nepomuk and is a reminder of the heyday of mining in Oberndorf.
