A very special summer-experience is a visit to the world’s largest summit cross, the Jakobskreuz. High up on the summit of Buchensteinwand, right in the heart of PillerseeTal, sits enthroned the walk-in summit cross amidst the alpine world of the Kitzbühel Alps.
From the panoramic platform at some 30 m height you have incredible views of the Slate Alps and Leogang Mountains surrounding the valley: Wilder Kaiser, Kitzbüheler Horn, Lofer and Leogang mountains and even Austria’s highest mountain, Grossglockner, can be marvelled at from here.
