Our contribution to sustainable passenger transportation The topic of energy transition is also on everyone's lips here in PillerseeTal - and of course we also want to make a positive contribution to climate protection and actively shape the path to a sustainable future.
By using the biofuel HVO100, which is made from 100 percent renewable raw materials, we are doing just that. Public bus transport in PillerseeTal thus saves up to 90 percent CO2. HVO100 has also already found its way into the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn and some of the snow groomers are refueled with the more environmentally friendly fuel.
What is HVO100? HVO stands for "Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil". It is a fossil-free (organic) fuel that completely replaces conventional diesel. In addition to plant and slaughterhouse waste, oils and fats from residual materials, such as used cooking oil or frying fat, are also used for this type of fuel. Only renewable, organic raw materials are used. The vegetable oil is purified and treated with hydrogen at high temperatures to make it usable as a fuel.
