1874 - 2024: 150 years of tourism in Waidring - from farming village to tourist resort

If you want to immerse yourself in the history of the beginnings of tourism in Waidring, you have to go back a few hundred years. From the end of May 2024, anyone who wants to travel back in time will have the opportunity to take a look into the past at the Biatron in Waidring.

THE EXHIBITION
From bell casting to the history of the Waidringer church bell, you can discover all this and more at the interactive exhibition, located in the futuristic biatron at the Steinplatte car park. Listen to the sound of the most diverse kinds of bells and discover what the cry of the bell is all about.

THE BELL ADVENTURE TRAIL
On the bell adventure trail, you can learn facts about the history of bell casting, the special features of the Waidringer bell casters and one or two anecdotes at the different stations along the trail.
The trail leads from the biatron, towards the valley station of the Bergbahnen Waidring-Steinplatte and finishes in the village centre.

SHOW CASTING
Discover the creation of a bell firsthand! From the preparation of the sand type, to the precision work when casting the bell, to the finished product. You can take your self-cast bells home with you after the experience as a souvenir.
