Salzburg
A cosmopolitan town in small format
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and "The Sound of Music" have made Salzburg world-renowned. The silhouette of the fortress, cathedral and the church steeples make this enchanting Baroque city on the River Salzach distinctive. Since 1997 Salzburg has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site on account of its picturesque Old Town and its quaint narrow streets. Everyone will find their own favourite spot in Salzburg, whether it is in one of the many museums, shops or in the restaurants. Did you know that Salzburg is not just called the "Mozart city" but the "Festival City" too? After all, every summer the Old Town is transformed into a big stage during the Salzburg Festival.
