Tour information

From the Mitterjäger inn, hike left in the direction of the settlement and then through the adjacent forest to the Schattern farm. Across the romantic forest area you reach the next pasture area. Here you have a beautiful view of Kirchdorf in Tirol and the Steinplatte in the background. The path now leads you varied through the forest up to the Lourdes Grotto. St. Bernadette and the Blessed Virgin Mary were carved in 2018 by the Kirchdorf sculptor Horst Pali, replacing the original statues from 1952. Continue hiking to the well-known Gmail Chapel - this special place magically attracts visitors. You will now hike further up to the Schatterkopf and down to the Metzgeralm and Bacheralm. From here, the trail leads leisurely along a narrow forest road back to the starting point.

Getting there Coming from Kitzbühel/St Johann on the B161, drive towards Salzburg. In St. Johann, leave the second roundabout on Salzburger Straße at the second exit. Take the exit left to Kössen/Schwendt and drive slightly uphill on the B176. You will next pass the Kirchdorf district of Gasteig and shortly afterwards you will reach the Gut Kramerhof parking. The starting point, Gasthaus Mitterjäger, is just across the street.

Coming from Waidring/Erpfendorf/Kirchdorf, head towards St. Johann. Follow the B178 and turn right towards Kirchdorf. At the church in Kirchdorf take the Gasteiger Straße in the direction of Kössen/Schendt. Drive slightly uphill on the B176. You will then pass the Kirchdorf district of Gasteig and shortly afterwards you will reach the Gut Kramerhof parking.The starting point, Gasthaus Mitterjäger, is just across the street.
