Tour information

The tour starts in Kirchdorf and leads along the Achendamm or Leukentalweg to the hamlet of Habach - here we recommend a small detour to the chapel Schützenkapelle in the Habach valley. Via Stockergraben you hike up to the Hacher farmers. Then you reach the hiking trail to Kalkstein - enjoy the magnificent view down to the Leukental, the Kitzbüheler Horn and the Wilder Kaiser.
Walk past the Obingalm and Heisenalm to the Bruggwirtsalm. From the Bruggwirtsalm you already have your destination in front of your eyes. The Baumooskogel (1506 m) the highest elevation on the Kalkstein. When you have reached the Baumooskogel, you will be rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view. Across alpine pastures you hike in the direction of St. Johann in Tirol. From the district of Scheffau you will return via Aiglsau to the Haberberg in Kirchdorf.

TIP: Take your own snacks and drinks with you - there are no catered alpine pastures on the mountain!

Getting there
To the start from the centre of Kirchdorf in Tirol: coming from St. Johann and Oberndorf, follow the B178 to Kirchdorf and turn left onto Dorfstraße.
To the start from the Haberberg car park: coming from St. Johann and Oberndorf, follow the B178 to Kirchdorf, turn right at Habach, past ‘Murmis Kinderland’ and follow the Haberberg road until you reach the Haberberg car park.
