‘Berggespräche’ with Alexander Huber

Presenter Andreas Jäger heads out in the St. Johann in Tirol region with extreme mountain climbers!

He is one of the most successful extreme climbers in the world: he became known – together with his brother Thomas – for the film ‘Am Limit’ (On the limit) and thanks to his free solo walk of the Große Zinne in South Tirol. Less well-known however is the fact that he is actually a graduate physicist. The talk is by Alexander Huber, the younger of the two ‘Huberbuam’.

’Berggespräche“’ presenter Andreas Jäger is out and about in the Kitzbühel Alps with the extreme mountain climber. Nestling between the towns of St. Johann in Tirol, Oberndorf, Kirchdorf and Erpfendorf, the two take in the panorama of the Wilder Kaiser in the early morning. Yet merely looking is not enough. In the course of the conversation they walk through the Kaiserbach valley, before heading up the Stripsenjoch.

As a core part of the Kitzbühel Alps, the four Tirol towns are an attractive, high quality holiday destination. Sporty-active holiday makers, nature lovers and families can gear themselves up for pure pleasure in the St. Johann in Tirol region: Sport and relaxation in the gentle grassy mountains, to steep mountain summits, adventure and entertainment, along with authentic Tirol hospitality and culinary delights.

Alexander Huber talks about liminal experiences on the mountain, about his relationship with his brother and about how at the age of 49 he still keeps himself fit enough to climb the highest rock faces in the world. Can Andreas Jäger – Neo-host on ‘Berggespräche’ do it too? Watch on ORF III.
