Mobility

Habitat PillerseeTal

We actively work on regional mobility solutions and try to achieve optimisations that are coordinated across regions. Internally, we promote alternative, renewable mobility and awareness of public transport use among guests, employees and local partners.

Expansion of public bus transport

The expansion is part of a broader initiative by the PillerseeTal Tourism Association, the five municipalities of PillerseeTal and the Tyrolean Transport Association to improve public transport in the region.

PillerseeTal continues to endeavour to offer sustainable mobility solutions that take into account the needs of the local population and our visitors. The expansion of the public bus service is a further step in this direction and underlines the joint commitment to environmentally friendly and accessible transport options.

Our contribution to sustainable passenger transport

Everyone is talking about the energy transition here in PillerseeTal - and of course we also want to make a positive contribution to climate protection and actively shape the path to a sustainable future. By using the biofuel HVO100, which is made from 100 per cent renewable raw materials, we are doing just that. Public bus transport in PillerseeTal thus saves up to 90 per cent CO2. HVO100 has also already found its way into the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn and some of the piste machines are refuelled with the more environmentally friendly fuel.

What is HVO100? HVO stands for "Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil". It is a fossil-free (bio)fuel that completely replaces conventional diesel. In addition to plant and slaughterhouse waste, oils and fats from residual materials, such as used cooking oil or frying fat, are also used for this type of fuel. Only renewable, organic raw materials are used. The vegetable oil is purified and treated with hydrogen at high temperatures to make it usable as a fuel.
