The Dirndl and Lederhosen Days in the region Hohe Salve offer a varied programme full of tradition, music and culinary highlights. The panoramic mountains Hohe Salve and Kleine Salve are transformed into a true celebration of Tyrolean heritage. Visitors dressed in dirndls and lederhosen, delicious local specialities, and lively performances by the Hopfgarten Rural Youth Association, the children's Schuhplattler dancers and traditional Alpine musicians create a unique atmosphere. A special highlight is the fashion show featuring the most beautiful dirndls and lederhosen by Trachtenbekleidung Niederkofler at the summit of Hohe Salve. The Hohe Salve cable car in Hopfgarten and the Salvista cable car in Itter take you comfortably to the top. On the official Dirndl and Lederhosen Day, visitors receive a 50% discount on day tickets for both cable cars.

With the mountain railway directly to the huts
On Saturday, 06 June 2026, you will receive a 50% discount on the day ticket in Hopfgarten and Itter.
The Sunnseit Hut is located between the middle station and the valley station of the Hopfgarten cable cars. You can reach the summit with the Hohe Salve summit restaurant with the Salvenbahn I & II.
You can easily reach the Kleine Salve terminus with the Salvistabahn Itter. Just below is the Kleine Salve reservoir. From there you can also hike the Hohe Salve.

Accessible by public transport
The Dirndl and Lederhosen Day can of course be reached by bus or train. You can easily take the bus to the valley station in Itter and the bus or train to Hopfgarten. The bus stops are (almost) directly at the two valley stations Hopfgarten and Itter.
