The footpath on the Kaiserbach will take you to the inner valley. Surrounded by the impressive peaks of the Wilder Kaiser, the Kaiserbachtal valley and its meadows is situated at the foot of the steep cliff walls.
The walk then leads from the Fischbachalm (refreshment break possible) via an incline up to the Vordere Ranggenalm (approx. 2 h). Here you can enjoy impressive views of the towers and walls of the Wilder Kaiser. With a bit of luck, you might even catch a glimpse of the chamois on the cliff walls. The summits have names such as Totenkirchl (church of the dead), Predigtstuhl (preacher’s chair) and Fleischbank (meat bench), evoking thoughts of evil and stimulating the imagination of hikers. Rare plants and various animal species make their home in the Kaiserbachtal nature protection area. And this treasure is being protected through the sustainable management of the habitat both in terms of agriculture and tourism.
Once at the top, you may be able to enjoy a snack with views of the majestic Kaisergipfel peak, if the Alpine dairyman of the Vordere Ranggenalm has time! The Alpine building of the Vordere Ranggenalm with its imposing backdrop presents the perfect photo opportunity. Then you will walk on to the Hintere Ranggenalm. The route then leads on down to the Griesner Alm (refreshment break possible) via a narrow agricultural trail. The walk then leads along the footpath on the Kaiserbach back to the start.
