The Four Seasons Op. 8 (Italian: Le quattro stagioni) is the title of a collection of four violin concertos from the year 1725 and is arguably the most famous work by Antonio Vivaldi. As the title suggests, natural phenomena are primarily imitated – gentle breezes, fierce storms, and thunderstorms are elements that appear in all four concertos. Additionally, various birdcalls and even a dog are included. Other human activities such as hunting, a farmer's dance, skating including stumbling and falling, and the deep sleep of a drunkard are also present.
