The ensemble's aim is to revive the festive sound of trumpet music at princely courts between the 16th and 18th centuries. As was customary in the court chapels of the time, the Schwanthaler Trumpet Consort performs with up to eight trumpets and two timpani, with trombone and organ added as basso continuo for concert literature.
