Experience hundreds of solstice fires on the mountaintops!
Every year, when the summer solstice is celebrated, the mountains in the St. Johann in Tirol region are set ablaze. For the "Feia brenna" (fire burning), as it is called here, the peaks of the Wilder Kaiser, Kalkstein, Loferer and Leoganger Steinberge, and the Kitzbüheler Horn are illuminated. Hundreds of mountain fires are ignited on the mountains. This spectacle is both mystical and magical. The fires are lit to enhance the power of the sun and to keep evil away from people and animals.
