Tavonaro cross on Stripsenjoch

This gorgeous cross received its name from Johann Tavonaro. He was innkeeper at the Stripsenjochhaus and an enthusiastic mountaineer.
The Predigtstuhl main peak was first climbed by Tavonaro.

The cross at Stripsenjoch, however, he erected in gratitude for his more than one hundred summit tours to Totenkirchl.
