Round-trip hike to Hopfgartenarten

From the meeting point in front of the tourist office in Westendorf we walk to the village’s  community clubhouse, turn left and follow the meadow path to the football field/open-air swimming pools. Before the football field we turn right and at the end of the field we turn left into a small path which leads us slightly downhill to the valley floor. Keep right at the next junction and you will reach the composting and sewage treatment plant. There we reach an asphalted road, which we follow on the right hand side uphill to reach the "Aunerplateau". At the fork in the road keep to the right to reach the farms Koglerhof and Thalerhof. At both farms you have the possibility to buy different farm products. Between the two farms we find the hiking trail towards Hopfgarten. We follow this slightly downhill and reach the access road to the "Rauchleit" farm. We follow the access road until it joins the main road. ATTENTION! Now we cross the main road road. Caution is advised here. Afterwards we go immediately right over a small wooden bridge. A wide forest path leads us uphill to a roadway. Follow this road to the left towards Hopfgarten or the Hopfgarten gondola station. Now you can either take the gondola up to the Hohe Salve (there are many more hiking possibilities) and/or you can take the bus back to Westendorf. Alternatively we continue hiking:
From the Hopfgarten gondola station’s large parking area we walk through the small railway underpass, keep left and follow the pavement to the sawmill. From here you have to walk about 200 metres along the main road before you turn sharp right under the railway bridge (waterfall) towards Gasthaus Lendwirt. At Lendwirt we keep left again and follow the uphill road back to Westendorf.
(Note: On the way to Lendwirt, directly before the "Hohe Eisenbahnbrücke" (high railway bridge), a beautiful, steep hiking trail on the left leads back to Westendorf’s golf course).
