The nights are getting longer, the snowflakes gently falling onto the fields and Christmas is just around the corner! To shorten the wait for Father Christmas, the traditional customs events in the Region PillerseeTal beckon to visit, marvel and linger. Amidst the fabulous winter scenery, the snow-covered slopes of the surrounding mountains and the snowy peaks, the best time of year is traditionally sweetened with home-baked cookies, hot mulled wine and tasty candied almonds. Between the second and third weekend in Advent, the anticipation of Christmas is sweetened all the more. A Christmas village by the lake, surrounded by water, forest and meadows beckons old and young to linger.

With mulled wine, punch and traditional Tyrolean ‘Christmas delicacies’, the waiting time for Christmas can be shortened with culinary delights. There is also a varied supporting programme with regional music groups and well-known bands from radio and TV. Other tried-and-tested children's attractions such as pony rides, barbecuing bread on a stick around the campfire and fairytale walks are also on the programme again. A free shuttle bus takes visitors from all over the valley directly to the Christkindldorf am See.
When the first snowflakes fall and the scent of chestnuts and mulled wine hangs in the air, the atmospheric Advent season has begun again. But the "quiet time" at Pillersee is also heralded musically. Orchestral brass bands and singing groups provide atmospheric melodies to get you in the mood for the most wonderful time of the year!

Look over the shoulders of our craftsmen and be up close when old crafts come back to life. And if you're still looking for a special gift idea, you're sure to find what you're looking for at one of our market stalls: from high-proof spirits to felt crafts and creative works of art, you'll find everything here.
Flickering candlelight, dancing snowflakes, sparkling fire and spicy scents.
This year, our storyteller Hans Pichler will once again make his rounds and bring a sparkle to the children's eyes with his exciting and at the same time contemplative stories. But there is much more in store for the little visitors to the Advent Market: barbecuing baked bread, a petting zoo, pony rides, a Christkindl post office and much more!
Do something good for the environment and use the free shuttle bus to get there! You can also find the current times online at www.vvt.at and via the VVT Smartride App! Or combine your visit to the event with a short walk from the village centre along the Pillersee to the kiosk by the lake - torches spread a romantic atmosphere and light up the way.
