My neighbour, the Kaiser
Guido and Toni are true children of the mountains. With the Alpine School Rock'n Roll they have turned their passion into their profession and share this passion with their guests.
Read moreGuido Unterwurzacher and Toni Moßhammer have been "best buddies" for about 20 years and together they have turned their greatest passion into their profession: climbing. The two friends run the Rock'n'roll Alpine School and take climbing-loving guests on the most beautiful tours around the Wilder Kaiser. As state-certified mountain and ski guides and native mountain people, they know the PillerseeTal like the back of their hands.
Sharing the mountain fever with their guests is a matter very close to the heart for Guido and Toni. It's just ideal that the Kitzbüheler Alpen have the right challenge for every climbing desire! On guided tours between gentle grassy hills and rugged rocks, the two locals help people to rise above themselves. In return, there are proud smiling faces and shining eyes - the most beautiful confirmation for their work.
Guido discovered his great love for climbing at the age of ten. From then on, everything in his life revolved around the mountain sport. Even 25 years later, his enthusiasm has not diminished. The feeling of being connected to the rock and overcoming one's personal limits again and again is too good. Only the priorities have changed for the family man: today, his wife and child are the most important things in his life.
Guido is definitely true to his motto "Live your dream". From competitions to first ascents and traverses to tours in Pakistan or Patagonia, he has left nothing out in terms of climbing technique. The highlight: two climbing adventures on El Capitan, probably the most famous climbing rock formation in the world, in Yosemite National Park in the USA. The best thing about travelling? For Guido, it's always coming home.
Toni was born with a love for the mountains. He got involved in climbing through friends and quickly realised: "This is my thing." Around 20 years ago he met Guido, and since then the two have pursued their intense hobby together. Climbing brought Toni not only the confirmation that he himself can achieve top performance, it also brought him many new friends who share his passion.
The founding of the Alpine School? The best decision of his life. And the liberation from his classic office job. After all, Toni has always been good with people - he also learned that in his father's inn. The family father would like to remain a mountain guide forever. Passing on the "climbing spirit" to guests and also to his own children is a life task for him.
Climbing tip: for fit beginners and slightly advanced climbers, the tour over the Kopftörlgrat in the Kaisergebirge in Summer is a challenging and impressive tour.
