LP2 – Straubing Circuit
MediumWonderful tour at the foot of the limestone plateau.
The tour is on the sunny side of the valley and can therefore also be run in spring or late into autumn. Also a great alternative to high alpine tours in bad weather.
From the centre of Fieberbrunn, walk westwards along the Achenpromenade to the fork in the road after the football pitch in the Rosenegg district (after the SPAR supermarket). Here, turn right over the bridge, cross the main road and stop briefly on the right. At Gasthof Obermair, the trail leads up on asphalt to the left, under the railway line, towards the hamlet of Obwall. At the fork in the road, continue straight ahead on asphalt for a short distance before a forest road with somewhat coarser gravel begins. The detour to the Rohreralm pays off, the hut will be open again from summer 2023 and the panorama is magnificent.
Uphill is followed by downhill. First the same route back until you branch off to the right in the direction of Hochreit and walk in a loop back to Obwall and the asphalt road. Descend to the main road, cross it and walk along the Achenpromenade back to the village centre.
