Kitzbühel Alps - Mountain biking in Tyrol

The Kitzbühel Alps are one of the most traditional cycling destinations in Austria. In the Kitzbühel Alps you will find around 1,000 kilometres of paths for cyclists and mountain bikers. The KAT Bike guides you through the Kitzbühel Alps in four stages. On this long distance bike tour you will cover up to 170 kilometres from Mariastein to Fieberbrunn and over 6,000 metres in altitude. Experience lonely mountain roads, quiet meadow paths and flowing trails in the Kitzbühel Alps.

KAT Bike: Summit bliss on 2 wheels

Journey through the Kitzbühel Alps!

With a KAT Bike, you can discover the most scenic peaks and tours between Mariastein and Fieberbrunn. Depending on the weather forecast and your personal fitness levels, you can discover multiple kilometres, vertical metres and trail metres.

The last of the four stages leads over alpine pastures and past quaint mountain lodges in the heart of the PillerseeTal. A short stop on the Winterstelleralm should not be missed in any case. Strengthened by a Brettljause or some fresh sugared and shredded pancakes, the last few metres will seem much easier to tackle.

And best of all: With the luggage transportation you save carrying a lot of weight and can enjoy the cycling stretches even more! Suitcases and overnight bags will then be waiting for you upon arrival at your reserved hotel.

Cycling circular trails

The PillerseeTal provides countless circular cycling trails for families, leisure cyclists and E-bikers. We have put a small selection together for you here.

Buchensteinwand circuit: This family cycling tour leads around the Buchensteinwand, the most beautiful panoramic mountain in the PillerseeTal. The Jakobskreuz follows you along the entire stretch, providing you with countless photo opportunities. And on hot days, the Kneipp facilities at the Wiesensee entice you in to cool off and take a small break.

Kalkstein circuit: With its 41km, this cycling circuit is already a little more challenging. From the PillerseeTal, you cycle along the Pillersee until Waidring. Via Erpfendorf, Kirchdorf and St. Johann in Tirol the route then leads back to the starting point. A coffee break in the pedestrian zone of St. Johann in Tirol should definitely be planned in.

Steinberg circuit: A day trip leads outwards from the PillerseeTal towards Loder, Saalfelden and via Leogang back again. A certain amount of conditioning is required for these 66km. The tour can however, also be comfortably discovered with an E-Bikem, making it manageable for families with children.

Austria's largest bike region!

Together with Fieberbrunn, the PillerseeTal is now a part of Austria's largest bike region Saalbach HInterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn!

Numbers say more than a thousand words: over 80 kilometres of lines & trails, 9 mountain railways and 7 mountains.

Flowy lines, fast downhill routes and technical trails in Saalbach Hinterglemm and Saalfelden Leogang or promising scenic bike tours in Fieberbrunn in the PillerseeTal. An incomparable variety of bikes and endless ranges are waiting for all enthusiastic bikers. Whether it's an enjoyable tour on an e-bike or a challenging mountain bike marathon - in Austria's largest bike region every biker will find exactly the right offer for his or her endurance.
