Starting at the Hotel Strasserwirt in St. Ulrich am Pillersee you follow the route singposted 18 Kalksteinrunde towards Hochfilzen. After about 1.7 km turn left towards "Grieseltal", pass the "Halserbauer" farm and continue your trip along the road into the valley. At the fork (4.9 km) turn left (after the bridge) and follow the way up to Schießlingalm (1.270m).
