Tour information

The starting point of this hike is at the parking lot Gasthof Wegscheid in Kurzen Grund.
From there, follow trail no. 718 in the direction of the Neue Bamberger Hütte. Shortly before the Neue Bamberger Hütte, at the beginning of the Kuhwildalm, you come to a fork in the road where you turn left in the direction of the Streitenfeldalm. At the alpine pasture, follow path no. 734 to the Kröndlhorn (2444 m).
Return to the starting point via the same path (no. 702A).

Alternatively, at the Streitfeldenalm you can take the Forsteweg in the direction of Markkirchl and then hike along the path to the Neue Bamberger Hütte. This addition extends the hike by about 1h 15 min and 4 kilometers.

Getting there Coming from Innsbruck/Munich: A12 exit Wörgl Ost - feeder road B178 towards St. Johann i. T. & Kitzbühel - after the tunnel exit towards Hopfgarten - at the roundabout take the B170 towards Hopfgarten - turn right after the underpass and drive over the bridge towards Kelchsau - into the valley on the L205 Kelchsauer Straße approx. 10 km to the toll station (car toll EUR 5.-) - after the toll station turn left - through Kurzer Grund valley to Gasthof Wegscheid.
Coming from Kitzbühel: B170 Brixentalstraße direction Wörgl - in Hopfgarten before the second railway underpass turn left over the bridge direction Kelchsau - approx. 10 km to toll station (car toll EUR 5,-) - after toll station turn left - through Kurzer Grund valley to Gasthof Wegscheid
