Discover the world of milk production and cheese making on a hike through the idyllic Kelchsau valley. Did you know that Hopfgarten and Kelchsau are the second-largest milk producers in Tyrol, with 7.9 million litres of milk per year? Experience the Tyrolean Alm summer, characterized by tradition, customs, and the harmonious coexistence of humans, animals, and nature. On our hike, we will stop at the Erlebnisalm Niederkaser. Here, you will learn about the art of cheese making during an exciting tour at 1:00 PM and can taste the delicious products on-site.

Meeting point: Information office Hopfgarten, Brixentaler Str. 41, 6361 Hopfgarten
Registration: by the day before at 4:00 PM online or in the information offices of the Hohe Salve region
Equipment: Good footwear, sufficient fluid, sun protection, rainwear
Costs with Kitzbüheler Alpen guest card: free (plus a guided cheese tour € 7.00)
Costs without Kitzbüheler Alpen guest card: € 20.00 (plus a guided cheese € 7.00)

Self-drive by car to the starting point or take the bus at 9:40 AM from Hopfgarten Berglift to Kelchsau Steinerbrücke is possible.
