Tour information
This tour to Jochberg and up the Pengelstein requires a somewhat better level of fitness, as the tour’s 1,166 metres of elevation are sometimes steeper in places. Starting from the tourist office in Brixen im Thale, the Brixental cycle path leads us comfortably to Kitzbühel. From Kitzbühel the tour continues flat along the Leukental cycle path to Aurach and Jochberg. From here the gravel path begins into the Saukaserbachgraben. At first it is shady and only slightly uphill, but later the path winds uphill, more exposed to the sun, sometimes steeper and sometimes less so. Passing the Kasereggalm, we can briefly see the 3S cable car. Before we reach this, however, there are still a few bends that take us up to 1,927 m above sea level. At the Pengelstein restaurant, a very bumpy descent begins, but it continues to improve. Past the Usterkaralm and the Hiesleggalm, we eventually have asphalt under our wheels. On the Aschauer cycle path we reach Kirchberg and return to Brixen on the Brixental cycle path.
