Tour information
The starting point of our tour is the information office in Kirchberg. After the roundabout and following the road under the railway underpass, we cycle towards Spertendorf. The well signposted route 201 Rauher Kopf, leads 4 km uphill on the Sonnbergweg to Gasthof Filzerhof. The asphalt road ends here and runs into a good forest path. At the point where you can see a hunter's stand in a meadow, the path becomes exorbitantly steep for a short distance. The last two steadily ascending kilometres lead through a shady forest, but soon after the highest point of our tour (1,410 m) is reached. After a few metres downhill, you could make a detour to the Kaiserblick viewpoint, from where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Wilder Kaiser. On a good forest trail the route then leads downhill towards Gasthof Ruetzen, where the smooth asphalt path runs back over the Hintersonnberg to Spertendorf. Once in the valley, we finally return to the starting point along the main road to Kirchberg.
