Your holiday resort on the sunny plateau in the Holiday Region Hohe Salve
On an idyllic plateau above the town of Wörgl you’ll find the holiday resort of Angerberg in the Holiday Region Hohe Salve. The sunny village may seem somewhat unremarkable at first glance. History of Angerberg
There are a total of ten chapels in Angerberg, with the school chapel being the largest and regularly holding holy masses. It was built during the construction of the schoolhouse in 1928/1929 and inaugurated on September 29, 1929. During the renovation of the school building in 1979/1980, the chapel was renovated and on October 5th, 1980 by Archbishop Dr. Karl Berg blessed and dedicated to the "Holy Family". The altarpiece of the “Holy Family” comes from the chapel of the Salzburg Cathedral Boys and was carved by Bachlechner. The altar is flanked by artistic figures of the Roman martyrs Kosmos and Damianus. An impressive crucifix on the side wall was carved and donated by sculptor Hans Arzberger, son of chapel florist Greti Embacher. The entrance niche of the chapel is decorated with a mosaic image of the Madonna of the Lack of Protection, which was created by the renowned Wörgl artist Prof. Schunbach. The school chapel is a listed building.
The Hundsalm ice and stalactite cave, the hiking experience on the high plateau north of Angerberg, is western Austria's only publicly accessible ice cave. The main entrance is located at 1,520 m above sea level and can be easily reached via marked paths from the Inntal or from Angerberg via the Buchacker Alm, or from Hinterthiersee via the Köglalm and Hundsalm.
